Assesment of arterial stiffness the substantional prognostic factor for evaluating complications of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in patients with atherosclerosis, hypertension and type 2 diabetes, may be performed using different parameters, including cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI). The main purpose of this review is to analyze data from studies where CAVI is used to test the arterial wall stiffness in magistral vessels. CAVI measurement is non-invasive and performed by portable devices which makes it comfortable for ambulatory use in patients who come for a check-up and also in those who already are hospitalized.

Material And Methods: A retrospective analysis of the results of serum ELISA of 200 patients with chronic keratoconjunctivitis and keratouveitis was performed using the solid-phase IFA method in order to detect the presence of antibodies to herpes simplex viruses of 1 and 2 types (HSV 1, 2), cytomegalovirus (CMV), and . The control group consisted of 34 healthy volunteers with no signs of inflammation of the eye tissue.
Nonspecific aortoarteritis (Takayasu s disease, obliterating aortoarteritis, disease of the missing pulse) is a systemic inflammatory disease of aorta and its branches, which leads to stenosis and ischemia of surrounding tissues. This disease is more common in young women and characterized by slowly progressive course with significant impairing quality of life. Etiology of the Takayasu's disease is unknown.

ED severity was assessed by Loran-Segal questionnaire of male copulative function (MCF) and international index of erectile function (IIEF). Zidena was used in a dose 100 mg 30 min before coitus twice a weak.

Level of Q10 Coenzyme plays a key role in the functioning of the respiratory mitochondrial chains, exerting a significant influence on the synthesis of ATP. The article provides data on the use of Q10 coenzyme in the treatment of 76 patients with circulatory failure.

The clinic at the nephrology and urology chair of the State Altai Medical University admitted 40 females aged 20-74 years with overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms and imperative urinary incontinence (IUI) in 2008-2009. The patients were divided into two groups: 20 patients of group 1 received an anticholinesterase drug solifenacin (vesikar) in a dose 5 mg/day; 20 patients of group 2 received combined treatment. The course of treatment lasted for 1-3 months.

The authors detected the significantly inhibited activity of succinate dehydrogenase and the redistribution of lymphocytic populations with the increased proportion of cells with the low and high activities of the enzyme. The more significant negative effect on the lymphocytes of patients with tuberculosis was observed when rifampicin was administered.

A new nomenclature of cellulases and relative enzymes based on their structural classification is reviewed. Some opportunities of cellulase improvement by means of protein engineering are discussed.

The interaction of yeast inorganic pyrophosphatase with methylpyrophosphate was studied. In the presence of Mg2+ the rate of hydrolysis of the methylpyrophosphate-Zn2+ complex by the enzyme was shown to decrease. This was accompanied by competition of Zn2+ and Mg2+ for one site of Me2+ binding on the enzyme.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe interaction between yeast inorganic pyrophosphatase and the simplest organic substrate, methylpyrophosphate, was studied. Methylpyrophosphate hydrolysis occurred most intensively in the presence of Zn2+ less intensively in the presence of CO2+ and Mn2+ and did not occur at all in the presence of Mg2+. The complex convertible into reaction products contains two Zn2+ and one molecule of zinc methylpyrophosphate per one active center.

The main place is given to the echocardiographic signs of this syndrome. The rupture of chordae tendineae is characterized by a certain combination of symptoms including the etiological factors of rupture, the clinical picture of cardiac insufficiency, a tendency to atrial fibrillation, auscultative picture of papillochordal insufficiency and the typical echocardiographic signs of this condition.
