Rapid Commun Mass Spectrom
June 2010
Kendrick Mass Mapping of complex sample compositions, via data derived by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FTICRMS) at 1,000,000 resolution, is becoming more common. The Orbitrap mass spectrometer (Fourier Transform Axially Harmonic Orbital Trapping) also uses FT methods and indirect detection, though operating at a maximum resolution of 100,000. We define the more general case of Normalized Mass Mapping to any repeating oligomer unit (e.

We examined 214 patients from an orthopaedic rehabilitation hospital at admission, discharge and 1-year follow-up. Outcome measures included disability, depression, self-efficacy, health status and attitudes towards work.

Improved analytical methods will help in identifying the environmental sources of such exposures. The separation of all six DMA isomers by supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), without derivatization, is reported within.

In addition, we aimed to demonstrate the additional benefit of a subsequent maintenance program in further stabilizing treatment successes.
Methods: We randomly assigned 363 chronic back pain patients to 1 of 3 treatment conditions: traditional orthopedic rehabilitation, multidisciplinary (behavioral-medical) rehabilitation alone, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation with subsequent booster sessions.
Rehabilitants with chronic orthopaedic diseases are assigned to either the traditional or the behaviour-medical rehabilitation approach by consultant physicians of the rehabilitation department within the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund (German pension insurance agency). The clinical relevance of this assignment was evaluated at the Rehazentrum Bad Pyrmont-Klinik Weser within a randomised controlled trial. In a sample of 363 rehabilitants the agreement of consultant physicians with the ratings of physicians and psychologists in the clinic was analyzed.

It was also investigated whether there were differential treatment effects between the traditional and behavioral-medical rehabilitation approaches.
Method: Questionnaires which assess pain-specific and associated variables were issued to a total of 361 patients on admission and discharge from rehabilitation.
Fibrous hyperplastic connective tissue lesions are common in the oral cavity and may be similar both clinically and histologically. A giant cell fibroma, a type of fibrous hyperplasia, was discovered during a preventive patient visit in the dental hygiene clinic at a Midwestern university. The patient, a 19-year-old female, presented with a dome-shaped lesion of normal mucosal color on the attached gingiva apical to tooth number 11.

In order to characterize this system for W-band EPR studies, we have utilized the nitroxide spin probe 3beta-doxyl-5alpha-cholestane to demonstrate the effects of macroscopic bilayer alignment.

We describe the consultation--liaison psychiatry activites in the renal transplant unit at Hannover Medical School. The activities with regard to patients' care include: the group session, with particular regard to dealing with the patients' denial; the indirect and direct psychotherapeutic interventions, the latter concerning psychotherapeutic consultation and counselling ('supportive psychotherapy'); and dealing with live donors and potential renal transplant patients. The second consultation--liaison psychiatry activity includes the teaching procedures: firstly, Balint-group-work with the nurses, secondly, the nurses' presence in the group sessions, and finally, Balint-group-work with students working as auxiliary therapists.
