The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a new federal agency established by the Biden administration in March 2022 to accelerate US government-funded biomedical and health solutions. ARPA-H has a distinct operating model, leadership structure, and funds flow separate from the National Institutes of Health. In 2023, the Association of Academic Radiology formed a Radiology Research Alliance taskforce to better understand the mission, vision, and guiding principles of ARPA-H and relevance to radiology and biomedical imaging research.

The experts discussed issues related to CGM accuracy, indications, education, clinical outcomes, quality of life, research gaps, and barriers to dissemination. Three main goals of management for patients with CKD and diabetes were identified: (1) greater use of CGMs for better glycemic monitoring and management, (2) further research evaluating the accuracy, feasibility, outcomes, and potential value of CGMs in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) on hemodialysis, and (3) equitable access to CGM technology for patients with CKD.

We characterized how patients with end-stage HF and their care partners understand prognosis and elicited their preferences around prognosis communication.
Methods: We conducted in-depth, semistructured interviews with patients with end-stage HF and their care partners between 2021 and 2022 at a tertiary care center in Michigan.
Context: Dyspnea, a prevalent and debilitating symptom in patients with advanced lung cancer, negatively affects symptom burden and prognosis. Physical activity has emerged as a promising non-pharmacological intervention for managing dyspnea.
Objectives: This study compared the effectiveness of two widely-recognized physical activity modalities, namely Tai Chi (TC) and aerobic exercise (AE) for treating dyspnea in patients with advanced lung cancer.

Background: Atherosclerotic plaques are complex tissues composed of a heterogeneous mixture of cells. However, our understanding of the comprehensive transcriptional and phenotypic landscape of the cells within these lesions is limited.
Methods: To characterize the landscape of human carotid atherosclerosis in greater detail, we combined cellular indexing of transcriptomes and epitopes by sequencing and single-cell RNA sequencing to classify all cell types within lesions (n=21; 13 symptomatic) to achieve a comprehensive multimodal understanding of the cellular identities of atherosclerosis and their association with clinical pathophysiology.

These may be responsible for varying degrees of neurologic, orthopedic, and urologic morbidity. Presented here, is the final analysis of MAGNOLIA, performed to characterize the durability of response and longer-term safety and tolerability. Zanubrutinib (160 mg twice daily) was evaluated in 68 patients with R/R MZL who had received at least 1 anti-CD20-directed regimen.

The keynote 024 trial showed 55% of such patients progress with pembrolizumab monotherapy. We propose that the combination of baseline CT and clinical factors can help identify those patients who may progress.

Background And Purpose: Bone MR imaging techniques enable visualization of cortical bone without the need for ionizing radiation. Automated conversion of bone MR imaging to synthetic CT is highly desirable for downstream image processing and eventual clinical adoption. Given the complex anatomy and pathology of the head and neck, deep learning models are ideally suited for learning such mapping.
