This is of particular concern for astronauts. Debate surrounds the utility of SCD, the subjective perception of decline in one's cognition before such impairment is evident in traditional neuropsychological assessments, as an early indicator of impending Alzheimer disease. Unfortunately, most studies examining SCD have been conducted in non-Latinx White samples and commonly exclude groups of individuals shown to be most vulnerable to dementia.

COVID-19 causes significant thrombosis and coagulopathy, with elevated D-dimer a predictor of adverse outcome. The precise mechanism of this coagulopathy remains unclear; one hypothesis is that loss of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 activity during viral endocytosis leads to pro-inflammatory angiotensin-II accumulation, loss of angiotensin-1-7 and subsequent vascular endothelial activation. While many studies have established the importance of protein homeostasis in tumor progression, little effort has been made to examine the therapeutic potential of targeting the HSP60 chaperonin system. In healthy cells, HSP60 is localized to the mitochondrial matrix; however, emerging evidence indicates HSP60 can be over-expressed and mis-localized to the cytosol of cancer cells, which is hypothesized to promote tumor cell survival and proliferation. This opens a potential avenue to selectively target the aberrant HSP60 in the cytosol as a chemotherapeutic strategy.

Over the past few decades, an increasing variety of molecular chaperones have been investigated for their role in tumorigenesis and as potential chemotherapeutic targets; however, the 60 kDa Heat Shock Protein (HSP60), along with its HSP10 co-chaperone, have received little attention in this regard. In the present study, we investigated two series of our previously developed inhibitors of the bacterial homolog of HSP60/10, called GroEL/ES, for their selective cytotoxicity to cancerous over non-cancerous colorectal cells. We further developed a third "hybrid" series of analogs to identify new candidates with superior properties than the two parent scaffolds.

However, most genetic studies use genotyping arrays and sequenced reference panels that best capture variation most common in European ancestry populations. An angular analysis of B^{0}→J/ψK^{+}π^{-} decays is performed, using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3  fb^{-1} collected with the LHCb detector. The m(K^{+}π^{-}) spectrum is divided into fine bins. In each m(K^{+}π^{-}) bin, the hypothesis that the three-dimensional angular distribution can be described by structures induced only by K^{*} resonances is examined, making minimal assumptions about the K^{+}π^{-} system.
