Recently, balloon occlusion catheters have been used to control intraoperative bleeding during the surgical management of placenta accreta. In this article, we present a review of the literature reporting the use of balloon occlusion catheters in the management of placenta accrete, and a case presentation outlining the use of a Fogarty balloon occlusion catheter to achieve hemostasis in the preoperative management of placenta percreta.
