Nanofitins are small and hyperthermostable alternative protein scaffolds that display physicochemical properties making them suitable for the development of topical therapeutics, notably for the treatment of pulmonary infectious diseases. Local administration of biologics to the lungs involves a particularly stressful step of nebulization that is poorly tolerated by most antibodies, which limits their application by this delivery route. Methods: We conducted a retrospective, observational, case-control study of a group of patients who died of SUDEP and controls who were matched to the patients for epilepsy type, drug resistance, sex, age at EEG recording, age at onset of epilepsy, and duration of epilepsy. We analyzed the heart rate (HR) and HR variability (HRV) at rest and during and after hyperventilation performed during the patient's last EEG recording before SUDEP.
Background And Purpose: The prognosis for ischemic stroke due to acute basilar artery occlusion is very poor: Early recanalization remains the main factor that can improve outcomes. The baseline extent of brain stem ischemic damage can also influence outcomes.
