Downconversion master slave optical coherence tomography for simultaneous en-face imaging at two depths.

We report the production of two en-face optical coherence tomography (OCT) images from two different depths in real time, using three interferometers in a configuration of double downconversion master slave OCT. Two active mixers are used to produce the analog product of two photodetection signals. A low-cost digitizer with a sampling rate just at the level of twice the inverse of the tuning interval is used, with a much lower sampling rate than that required by the conventional A-scan-based OCT imaging at the same tuning rate.

Assessment of the Potential Role of Preoperative Dental Clearance in Total Joint Arthroplasty Optimization: A Pilot Study.

Aims And Objectives: Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a serious complication after total joint arthroplasty (TJA) and is associated with significant morbidity, mortality, and cost. This pilot study primarily aimed to investigate if preoperative dental screenings would impact the rate of PJI following TJA when compared to historical controls. Secondarily, this study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of dental pathology in patients undergoing TJA.

Disturbance at the self-other boundary in schizophrenia: Linking phenomenology to clinical neuroscience.

In this selective review, we describe the current neuroscientific literature on disturbances of the self-other boundary in schizophrenia as they relate to structural and experiential aspects of the self. Within these two broad categories, the structural self includes body ownership and agency, and the experiential self includes self-reflection, source monitoring, and self-referential and autobiographical memory. Further, we consider how disturbances in these domains link to the phenomenology of schizophrenia.
