Article Synopsis
  • A novel missense mutation (I423T) in the FSH receptor (FSHR) was found in a woman experiencing primary ovarian failure, affecting hormone signaling.
  • *The study analyzed how this mutation impacts receptor function compared to another known mutation (D408Y), revealing significant differences in receptor expression and signaling pathways.
  • *Results suggest that the I423T mutation leads to impaired signaling while allowing some receptor activity, whereas the D408Y mutation severely disrupts receptor expression and function, highlighting the importance of receptor conformations.*
