Living kidney donors voluntarily donate one of their kidneys to someone suffering from end-stage kidney disease. Transplantation is a life-saving opportunity for these patients and generally provides an increase in quality of life. A major goal of research and practice related to living kidney donation concerns the safety of the donor.

In this study, we deployed a new approach of measurements to assess methane (CH) and nitrous oxide (NO) emissions across an urban sewer network, which spans 4769.43 m and receives about 750 m of domestic sewage per day.

The aim of this study was to study if the use of a bounding box GUI or a heatmap GUI results in different performance of endoscopists when using CADe for Barrett's neoplasia.
Methods: Thirty-seven endoscopists from six countries with varying expertise assessed 70 Barrett's esophagus videos.
Natural killer (NK) cells are important effector cells in antibody-based immune therapies for multiple myeloma (MM) through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. Here, we used single-cell transcriptomics, flow cytometry and functional assays to investigate the bone marrow NK cell compartment of MM patients at diagnosis and during treatment. We show reduced proportion of CD16+ cytotoxic NK cells in a subset of patients at diagnosis, which correlated with decreased cytokine production and NK cell degranulation against MM cells in the presence of the anti-CD38 antibody daratumumab.

For the intermediate group, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) or magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is recommended to assess whether an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is necessary prior to cholecystectomy. The aim of the study was to investigate adherence to the guideline for diagnostic and treatment strategy for cholelithiasis in daily clinical practice.
