A persistent fetal vasculature: A case report.

Persistent fetal vasculature, previously called persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous, is a rare congenital condition where a component of fetal vessels within the eye fails to regress, leading to visual acuity decrease or loss. We present a case of a 13-year-old male patient, with a history of second-degree consanguinity, psychomotor development retardation, intellectual deficit from birth, in addition to a progressive bilateral visual acuity decrease. He recently presented a leukocoria in the right eye.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical-radiological syndrome that combines nonspecific neurological manifestations, sometimes severe (coma, status epilepticus), with typical brain imaging showing mostly bilateral, symmetrical abnormalities, predominantly affecting the white matter. Termed "reversible," the norm is a return to the previous neurological state. However, this recovery is not always guaranteed, with potential neurological sequelae or even progression to death.

Acute presentation of cocoon abdomen as intestinal obstruction mimicking with strangulated eventration: A case report.

Introduction: Abdominal cocoon syndrome (ACS), or sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis (SEP) is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction in which the bowel and internal abdominal organs are wrapped with a fibrocollagenous cocoon-like encapsulating membrane. While cocooning of the abdomen primarily manifests in individuals undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD), it has also been reported to occur spontaneously. Remarkably rare, SEP may present with complete mechanical bowel obstruction in select cases.

Fetus in fetu is an uncommon medical anomaly characterized by the presence of a malformed fetus within the body of a living twin. Although the retroperitoneum is the most typical location, occurrences in the sacrococcygeal and dorsolumbar regions are rare. Ongoing debates center around its embryopathogenesis, debating whether it is a highly specialized teratoma or a result of parasitic twinning in a monozygotic monochorionic diamniotic pregnancy.
