Autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) is a treatment option for relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) that are refractory to disease-modifying therapy (DMT). AHSCT after failure of high-efficacy DMT in aggressive forms of relapsing-remitting MS is a generally accepted indication, yet the optimal placement of this approach in the treatment sequence is not universally agreed upon. Uncertainties also remain with respect to other indications, such as in rapidly evolving, severe, treatment-naive MS, progressive MS, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).

Background: Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) is the commonly used approach for aortic valve replacement (AVR) in patients with aortic stenosis at low or intermediate surgical risk. However, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has emerged as an alternative to SAVR for AVR. This meta-analysis aims to assess the comparative efficacy and safety of TAVR versus SAVR in low-to-intermediate surgical risk patients by analyzing temporal trends in the outcomes of TAVR and SAVR at various follow-up intervals, providing a more detailed understanding.

Direct Immunofluorescence in Dermatomyositis and Lupus Erythematosus: Cross-Sectional Diagnostic Accuracy and Correlation With Serologies and Other Features of Systemic Disease.

This is a retrospective cross-sectional diagnostic test accuracy study of direct immunofluorescence (DIF) performed on a group of potential lupus erythematosus (LE)/dermatomyositis (DM) skin biopsies from 2015 to 2020 at a large, academic medical center. For purposes of this study, which was focused primarily on detection of LE/DM-related interface dermatitis, DIF was considered positive for a LE/DM pattern if it showed granular deposition of immunoglobulin G, with or without C3, at the basement membrane zone on the final pathology report. Blinded clinicopathologic correlation was the reference standard.

Machine learning based parameter-free adaptive EWMA control chart to monitor process dispersion.

Conventional control charts track changes in the process by using predefined process parameters. Conversely, during online monitoring, adaptive control charts modify the process parameters. To improve the process dispersion monitoring in various operational environments, this study presents an adaptive exponentially weighted moving average (AEWMA) control chart based on support vector regression (SVR).
