Article Synopsis
  • - The study examined the prevalence of *spp.* mites in 2508 patients from northern Poland suspected of having demodicosis, with a total of 3684 tests conducted.
  • - Only 43.02% of the tests confirmed the presence of *spp.*, showing a positive correlation with the patient's age and higher detection rates on eyelids and facial skin.
  • - Men were found to have *spp.* more often than women, and effective diagnosis of demodicosis remains challenging due to vague symptoms and low confirmation rates, particularly among younger patients.

Introduction: The pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD) involves complex interactions between environmental factors, the skin microbiome, epidermal barrier defects, and altered immune responses that develop on a not fully understood specific genetic background.

Aim: We aimed to evaluate the contribution of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the IL-35 genes ( and ) towards AD susceptibility and clinical characteristics of AD in the Polish population. Two SNPs (rs568408, rs582054) in and one SNP (rs428253) in were selected.

Unlabelled: This study aimed to comprehensively analyze the problem of overweight and obesity among psoriatic patients by investigating the influence of body mass composition, anhedonia and depression, environmental factors and gene polymorphisms.

Methods: The study enrolled 30 overweight or obese adult patients with chronic plaque psoriasis and 30 overweight or obese volunteers (northern Poland region, Caucasian population). Mood disorders, body mass composition by using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and gene polymorphisms (rs9939609, rs1558902) by tetra-primer amplification refractory mutation system PCR (T-ARMS-PCR) were assessed.

: Psoriasis is a common, chronic, and immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease recognized to lead to a wide range of comorbid disorders, mainly obesity. The study aimed to evaluate the problem of overweightness and obesity among psoriasis patients in the context of their prevalence and influence on the disease course. : The study group encompassed 147 adult patients with plaque psoriasis.

The pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis (AD) is complex, multifactorial, and not fully understood. Genes encoding collagens, the most abundant proteins in the extracellular matrix (ECM), may play a potential role in the pathogenesis of AD. Our study aimed to estimate the associations between /rs1800255, /29rs12488457, and /rs13081855 polymorphisms and the occurrence, course, and features of AD in the Polish population.
