We describe the novel occurrence of a adenocarcinoma involving the trachea, with distinct solid and glandular components, in a 34-year-old patient. We illustrate its morphological and immunophenotypic features and describe the molecular finding of an EWSR1::BEND2 gene fusion detected by next-generation sequencing (NGS). We discuss the findings in comparison to BEND2-fusion associated neoplasms reported in the head and neck region in the literature to date.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFGenetic disruption of the RAS binding domain (RBD) of PI 3-kinase (PI3K) prevents the growth of mutant RAS driven tumors in mice and does not impact PI3K's role in insulin mediated control of glucose homeostasis. Selectively blocking the RAS-PI3K interaction may represent an attractive strategy for treating RAS-dependent cancers as it would avoid the toxicity associated with inhibitors of PI3K lipid kinase activity such as alpelisib. Here we report compounds that bind covalently to cysteine 242 in the RBD of PI3K p110α and block the ability of RAS to activate PI3K activity.

We aimed to examine associations between combinations of first trimester health behaviors and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), normotensive adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs), and blood pressure (BP) 2-7 years after delivery.
Methods: Participants in the nuMoM2b and follow-up Heart Health Study were included.
Objective: To assess the efficacy of low-dose aspirin in the prevention of adverse outcomes in low-risk, nulliparous singleton pregnancies.
Data Sources: PubMed, Ovid MEDLINE, Scopus, Cochrane Library, clinicaltrials.gov, and ScienceDirect were searched from their inception to August 5, 2023.
