The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence of acquiring medical record information and laboratory data on the sensitivity of detecting imaging findings among Japanese radiological technologists (RTs). RTs were presented with patient's information in three distinct sequences for detecting imaging findings. True positives (TP) were identified and categorized into three groups: Group 1 (image + chief complaint), Group 2 (image + chief complaint + medical record), and Group 3 (image + chief complaint + medical record + laboratory data).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIonizing radiation induces various types of DNA damage, and the reparability and lethal effects of DNA damage differ depending on its spatial density. Elucidating the structure of radiation-induced clustered DNA damage and its repair processes will enhance our understanding of the lethal impact of ionizing radiation and advance progress toward precise therapeutics. Previously, we developed a method to directly visualize DNA damage using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and classified clustered DNA damage into simple base damage clusters (BDCs), complex BDCs and complex double-strand breaks (DSBs).

AQP4 loss impairs solute exchange between the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and interstitial fluid (ISF). However, whether AQP4 expression affects solute clearance from the CSF space to the extracranial space remains unclear.

This randomized controlled trial (RCT) aimed to compare long-term quality of life (QoL) and weight loss rates in patients who underwent single-port laparoscopic gastrectomy (SLG) or multi-port laparoscopic gastrectomy (MLG) for gastric cancer.
Methods: This single-center RCT compared MLG and SLG in patients with clinical stage I gastric cancer, all of which underwent distal gastrectomy between April 2016 and September 2018.
Treatment of various ()--(2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropent-4-en-1-ylidene)-1-phenylethylamine derivatives with 2.4 equiv of DBU in toluene at room temperature to 50 °C for 24 h led to a smooth [1,3]-proton shift reaction with a high chirality transfer, affording the corresponding rearranged products in acceptable yields. Without purification, these products were subjected to acid hydrolysis and the subsequent -Cbz protection, providing the optically active tetrafluoroethylenated amides in moderate three-step yields.
