Background: The radiology, obstruction, symptoms and exposure (ROSE) criteria provide a standardised approach for identifying the "COPD-bronchiectasis (BE) association." However, the clinical implications and outcomes of the COPD-BE association in East Asian populations remain unclear. Our study applied the ROSE criteria to assess the prevalence, clinical impact and outcomes of the COPD-BE association in an East Asian cohort, and compared that cohort with nonsmoking BE patients with fixed airflow obstruction (FAO) and those without FAO.

Background: Eyelid blepharoptosis correction is commonly performed with loupe magnification. The posture in which this operation is performed, with cervical spine flexion and forward lean, places significant stress on the cervical spine.
Objectives: Performing upper eyelid surgery under the operating microscope is not commonly practiced.
Purpose: to the voiding function/deficit of patients with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) waits to be clarified, this study investigated if RSCP modifies voiding functions of POP patients by focusing on its impact on the outlet resistance-dependent voiding workload using pressure-volume analysis (PVA), a protocol thermodynamically assaying work expenditure by the bladder in voiding cycles.
Methods: Pre- and post-operative cystometry and PVA of 22 female patients, who underwent RSCP for POP (stage ≥ II), were reviewed. , , , voided volume (Vvod), voiding time (Tvod), and the trajectory-enclosed area (Apv) were analyzed.
Background: The optimal retraining intervals for Immediate Life Support (ILS) are unclear. This study aimed to explore the effects of different retraining intervals for simulation-based, short-duration ILS courses.
Methods: In this randomized controlled study, junior residents and nurses were recruited and assigned to three groups.
Background: Sepsis is characterized by organ dysfunction as a response to infection and is one of the leading causes of mortality and loss of health. The heterogeneous nature of sepsis, along with ethnic differences in susceptibility, challenges a thorough understanding of its etiology. This study aimed to propose prediction models by leveraging genetic-risk scores and clinical variables that can assist in risk stratification of patients.
