Background: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between discharge opioids after operative treatment of carpometacarpal (CMC) arthritis and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) over a 6-month episode of care.

Methods: A total of 172 patients met inclusion criteria for this study. Patient-reported outcomes including patient-reported wrist/hand evaluation (PRWHE), single assessment numeric evaluation, and PRO measurement information system (PROMIS) global-10 questionnaires were collected prospectively and stored in an electronic data capture system until review for the purpose of this study.

The purpose of the present study was to analyze carcass composition, physicochemical properties, muscle texture, and structure, as well as morphometry of the digestive tract and leg bone dimensions of Cherry Valley ducks (SM3 Heavy hybrid) and Orvia ducks (ST5 Heavy hybrid) after laying. A total of 32 ducks were dissected, 8 females and 8 males from each breeding set. Analysis of meat quality (breast muscle, leg muscle) in terms of color (L*, a*, b*), acidity (pH), electrical conductivity (EC), and basic chemical composition (protein, water, fat, collagen) was performed.

The use of 3D printed models in patient care offers a wide range of possibilities in terms of personalized medicine, training and education of medical professionals, and communication with patients. DICOM files from imaging modalities such as CT and MRI provide the basis for the majority of the 3D models in medicine.

Background: The purpose of this retrospective analysis of a prospective quality control project was to determine whether the use of intrawound vancomycin powder (IVP) decreases the rate prosthetic joint infection (PJI) within 90-days following primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA).

Methods: From October 2021-September 2022, a prospective quality control project was undertaken in which 10 high-volume arthroplasty surgeons alternated between using IVP and not using IVP each month. Patients who received IVP were compared to those who did not.
