Seaweed is becoming increasingly popular in the Western diet as consumers opt for more sustainable food sources. However, seaweed is known to accumulate high levels of arsenic-which may be in the form of carcinogenic inorganic arsenic (iAs). Here we propose a fast method for the routine measurement of iAs in seaweed using HPLC-ICP-MS without coelution of arsenosugars that may complicate quantification.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to report the clinical, functional and radiological outcome following varus osteotomy as a salvage procedure in young to middle-aged patients with patellofemoral arthritis (PFA) and associated valgus malalignment. It was hypothesized that a significant improvement in knee function and reduction in pain would be achieved. Moreover, no conversion to patellofemoral joint arthroplasty could be observed.

Pexidartinib (PLX3397) is a small molecule receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor of colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) with moderate selectivity over other members of the platelet derived growth factor receptor family. It is approved for treatment of tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TGCT). CSF1R is highly expressed by microglia, which are macrophages of the central nervous system (CNS) that defend the CNS against injury and pathogens and contribute to synapse development and plasticity.
