Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are monitored and controlled by a computing and communicating core. This cyber layer enables better management of the controlled subsystem, but it also introduces threats to the security and protection of CPSs, as demonstrated by recent cyberattacks. The resulting governance and policy emphasis on cybersecurity is reflected in the academia by a vast body of literature.

Background: Uterine leiomyosarcoma is a rare malignant smooth muscle tumor originating in the uterine wall that generally responds poorly to chemotherapy and radiation.

Aim: We investigated the in vitro effects of a novel nutrient mixture containing lysine, proline, ascorbic acid, and green tea extract on the human leiomyosarcoma cell line SK-UT-1 by measuring cell proliferation, invasiveness, apoptosis, and expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP). We also tested the effects of nutrient mixture in vivo using nude mice.

Article Synopsis
  • Tumor metastasis is a leading cause of cancer deaths, with melanoma being particularly aggressive and often resistant to current treatments.
  • A study was conducted on female nude mice to assess the impact of a novel nutrient mixture (NM) on inhibiting melanoma growth and metastasis, comparing a control group with a test group supplemented with NM.
  • Results indicated that the NM group had significantly less tumor growth in the kidneys and reduced metastasis to the lungs compared to the control group, suggesting NM's potential as a therapeutic option for melanoma.
