Small ruminants, such as sheep () and goats (), contribute to approximately 475 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCOe) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, accounting for approximately 6.5% of the global emissions in the agriculture sector. Crop residues, silage, grasses, hay, browse, plant leaves, shrubs, agro-industrial by-products, poultry litter, and other alternative feed sources are frequently utilized for small ruminant production.

Introduction: There could be misdiagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 for malaria and vice versa because of their similar presentations, particularly when clinicians rely mainly on symptoms for diagnosis. Coinfection with coronavirus disease 2019 and malaria is associated with increased all-cause in-hospital mortality compared with isolated infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Presentation with pleural effusion adds another challenge in the diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019.

Mosquitoes rely mainly on the sense of smell to decipher their environment and locate suitable food sources, hosts for blood feeding and oviposition sites. The molecular bases of olfaction involve multigenic families of olfactory proteins that have evolved to interact with a narrow set of odorants that are critical for survival. Understanding the complex interplay between diversified repertoires of olfactory proteins and ecologically-relevant odorant signals, which elicit important behaviors, is fundamental for the design of novel control strategies targeting the sense of smell of disease vector mosquitoes.

Background: Nutrient acquisition and allocation integrate foraging and life-history traits in insects. To compensate for the lack of a particular nutrient at different life stages, insects may acquire these through supplementary feeding, for example, on vertebrate secretions, in a process known as puddling. The mosquito Anopheles arabiensis emerges undernourished, and as such, requires nutrients for both metabolism and reproduction.

In this study, a square wave voltammetric method for determination of theophylline in tablet formulation based on EDTA salt modified carbon paste electrode is presented. CV, FT-IR, and EIS results confirmed modification of the carbon paste with EDTA salt. In contrast to the unmodified carbon paste electrode, the modified carbon paste electrode showed irreversible oxidation of theophylline with considerable current enhancement.
