This paper describes a knowledge transfer experiment that has been conducted since September 2012 in Argenteuil (Val d'Oise, France). This experiment is part of an interventional research project called DeCL/C: "Knowledge translation on social and spatial inequalities: a tool to raise local awareness and mobilization to lessen cancer screening participation rate disparities': The project is carried out by health geographers from Paris Ouest University (UPO) and the National Association of Cities for Public Health (Elus, Sante Publique et Territoires, ESPT). It encompasses two main components: intervention designed to implement a knowledge co-production and transfer process among researchers, stakeholders and decision makers at various levels.

Both measurements of CO2 concentration and a multi-room calculation model are presented. The study analyzes how to use more efficiently the available spaces and the capacity of CAV ventilation systems in existing buildings and the impact this has on the indoor air quality and the energy consumption of the ventilation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Broad-spectrum beta-lactam is the standard therapy for febrile neutropenia (FN) in cancer patients. The aim of our study was to evaluate the treatment of FN by a once-daily administration of ceftriaxone (CFX) alone.

Background: No previous study has compared hospitals with respect to the variation of antimicrobial utilization (AU) for cancer patients with febrile neutropenia (FNE).
Patients And Methods: We conducted an observational cohort study, carried out in 18 tertiary care centers across nine countries, in order to describe AU patterns for cancer patients with FNE and to evaluate whether prescription was appropriate.
Results: A total of 148 patients was exposed to 483 antimicrobial agents and 318 therapeutic courses, corresponding to 1,766 antimicrobial exposure-days.
The main risk factors of infectious complications in cancer patients result from immune deficiency more or less related to cancer. Prognosis is related to the type and grade of the underlying disease. Prospective studies should be conducted to update data on the frequency of infections, morbidity and mortality (expert agreement).
