Background: Neuroinflammation seems to be involved in ADHD pathogenesis. Recently, in this regard, some evidence suggests the possibility of an autoimmune mechanism related to anti-Purkinje cell antibodies. The aim of this paper is to confirm this evidence searching for a possible specificity for some subtype of ADHD.

Article Synopsis
  • Pembrolizumab-related thyroid dysfunction may lead to better outcomes in early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients undergoing preoperative therapy.
  • The study compared outcomes (pathological complete response (pCR) and event-free survival (EFS)) among patients with and without this thyroid dysfunction, discovering that no significant differences in pCR and EFS were observed overall.
  • Notably, patients who developed overt thyrotoxicosis had a higher pCR rate (85.7%) compared to others (42.1%), suggesting a potential link between this specific thyroid condition and improved treatment response.

The primary goal of acromegaly treatment is to normalize biochemical parameters as it significantly reduces the risks of complications and comorbidities associated with the disease. First-line medical treatment is commonly represented by injectable somatostatin analogues (SRLs) after surgery. In June 2020, with the integration of Transient Permeation Enhancer® technology, oral octreotide capsules (OOCs) received regulatory approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for long-term maintenance treatment in patients with acromegaly who have responded to and tolerated treatment with octreotide or lanreotide.

Article Synopsis
  • Fulminant hepatitis is a serious disease that leads to significant liver dysfunction and brain issues, and previous research found a high presence of Human pegivirus-1 (HPgV-1) in affected patients.
  • In a new study, 44.4% of plasma samples from patients with fulminant hepatitis tested positive for HPgV-1 RNA, with a mean cycle threshold of 28.5.
  • All positive samples were identified as belonging to the HPgV-1 genotype 2, highlighting a gap in understanding the virus's role in liver diseases and the need for further investigation.

Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of coating traditional and translucent Y-TZP with an industrial nanometric colloidal silica or glaze before or after sintering on the adhesion of zirconia with various ytrria concentration.

Materials And Methods: Specimens of Y-TZP with 3% and 5% yttria were subdivided into 5 groups (n=10), according to the coating applied and moment of application (before or after Y-TZP sintering): Control (no coating), Colloidal Silica/Sintering, Sintering/Colloidal Silica, Glaze/Sintering, Sintering/ Glaze. Lithium disilicate (LD) was used as positive control.
