A key molecule in cellular metabolism, citrate is essential for lipid biosynthesis, energy production, and epigenetic control. The etiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD), a progressive neurodegenerative illness marked by memory loss and cognitive decline, may be linked to dysregulated citrate transport, according to recent research. Citrate transporters, which help citrate flow both inside and outside of cells, are becoming more and more recognized as possible participants in the molecular processes underlying AD.

While central monoamines play a role in regulating stress-related locomotory activity, the modulation of monoamines by the corticosteroid stress axis in shaping acute behavioural responses are unclear. We investigated whether the corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor 1 (Crhr1) modulation of stress-related behavioral response involves monoamine regulation by subjecting Crhr1 knockout (crhr1) zebrafish (Danio rerio) to an acute thermal stressor (TS: +5 °C above ambient for 60 min). The TS-induced cortisol response and hyper locomotory activity in the WT larvae was abolished in fish lacking Crhr1.

We recently showed that Crh-Crhr1 signalling is essential for acute stress-related locomotor activity in zebrafish larvae. However, the possibility that Crhr1 activation may also initiate the acute metabolic demands for stress coping was unexplored. Here, we tested the hypothesis that Crhr1 signalling is essential for the thermal stressor-induced increases in the acute metabolic rate, a key response for coping with the enhanced energy demands during stress.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and progressive neuronal damage. Recent research has highlighted the significant roles of the gut microbiota and microRNAs (miRNAs) in the pathogenesis of AD. This review explores the intricate interaction between gut microbiota and miRNAs, emphasizing their combined impact on Alzheimer's progression.

Higher prevalence of inappropriate medication use among cancer patients increases risk of drug-related problems(DRP) like drug-drug interactions, ADR, and non-adherence. Potentially inappropriate medication (PIM) and Potential Prescription Omission (PPO) were identified using Screening Tool of Older Person's Prescriptions (STOPP) and Screening Tool to Alert Doctors to the Right Treatment (START) criteria. The study objective was to optimize prescriptions for the elderly by analyzing the impact of medication review.
