Intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1) is a cell-surface protein actively explored for targeted drug delivery. Anti-ICAM-1 nanocarriers (NCs) target ICAM-1-positive sites after intravenous injection in animal models, but quantitative mechanistic examination of cellular-level transport in vivo is not possible. Prior studies in human cell cultures indicated efficient uptake of these formulations via cell adhesion molecule-(CAM)-mediated endocytosis.

Understanding their trophic strategies and interactions is necessary for comprehending food web dynamics and developing ecosystem-based management strategies. Although, feeding strategies can change depending on several factors, including fluctuations in prey availability throughout the year.

Method: Retrospective estimate of daily infections from daily data on COVID-19 deaths, a seroprevalence study, and the REMEDID (Retrospective Methodology to Estimate Daily Infections from Deaths) algorithm.
Results: In SRM, it is observed that: 1) the maximum peak of infections was more than double that registered in the official statistics; 2) such peak was reached on May 22 (95% CI: 20-24 May), 2022, that is, 24 days before the official date of the peak of infections; and 3) the first estimated contagion took place on January 28, 2020 (95% CI: January 21 to February 16), that is, 36 days before the official date.
A network of marine reserves can enhance yield in depleted fisheries by protecting populations, particularly large, old spawners that supply larvae for interspersed fishing grounds. The ability of marine reserves to enhance sustainable fisheries is much less evident. We report empirical evidence of a marine reserve network improving yield regionally for a sustainable spiny lobster fishery, apparently through the spillover of adult lobsters and behavioral adaptation by the fishing fleet.
