Introduction: The Enhanced Recovery After Cardiac Surgery protocol is the most recent addition to cardiac treatment. In this paper, we aimed to test the safety and viability of this protocol in our hospital to improve our standard of care.

Methods: This study was conducted as an experimental study with a historical control at the Maritime Heart Center, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Background And Aim Of The Study: Long-term laryngotracheal complications have not been described in adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of and risk factors for laryngotracheal complications following cardiac surgery.

Methods: A retrospective chart review of patients at high risk for laryngotracheal complications following cardiac surgery between 2006 and 2016 was performed.

Extraabdominal Rupture of an Inflammatory Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in a Patient With Aortodecubital Fistula: A Case Report.

Aortodecubital fistula is a pathologic communication between aorta and a decubitus ulcer. It is very rarely encountered vascular condition in abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), with difficult diagnostics and high mortality. Patients often present with systemic and local infection and are at risk for hemorrhage.

Downregulation of miR-30c-5p expression in colorectal cancer tissue is sex-dependent.

We report that decreased expression of miR-30c in tumor compared to adjacent tissue is sex-dependent in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. High expression of miR-30c was associated with better survival in the whole cohort. When the cohort was split into male and female subcohorts, decreased miR-30c expression in tumor compared to adjacent tissue was observed only in males.
