[Negative mental disorders in epilepsy].

Objective. To search for clinical features of negative mental disorders in epilepsy. Material and methods.

[Dementia in epilepsy].

We studied clinical and neuropsychological characteristics of 106 epileptic patients, aged 18-87 years, with dementia. Mild, moderate and severe variants of dementia have been singled out. The neuropsychological tests effective for identification and quantitative assessment of cognitive impairment in patients with epilepsy are suggested.

[Chronic schizophrenia-like psychoses in epilepsy].

Clinical peculiarities of interictal chronic epileptic psychoses were studied in 58 patients. The authors suggested a systematic of schizophrenia-like psychoses in epilepsy. Hallucinoses, paranoid, depressive, manic and catatonic psychotic states were described.

[Progression as a prognostic criterion in the forensic psychiatric assessment of organic cerebral lesions].

Analyzes some problems characterizing the specific features of slowly coursing organic lesions of the brain as regards the forensic psychiatric assessment of such lesions in subjects serving their sentence.

[The clinico-biochemical characteristics of persons with paraphilias and a chromosome anomaly (47, XYY)].

The authors describe the results of a comprehensive examination of 5 persons with chromosomal aberration (47, XYY) manifesting the signs of deviation from normal sexual behavior. The examined were shown to have common dysontogenesis that manifested itself by retardation of the biological basis of sexuality, psychosexual formation together with retardation of the mental processes on the whole. Whatever variants of deviations from normal sexual behavior the common feature was predominance in the libido structure of sadistic aims, that contributed to the revealing of aggressive sexual behavior.
