This study explores the structural adaptations of the CRISPR-Cas9 system in halophilic bacteria, focusing on Cas9 protein of halophilic bacterium Salicibibacter cibi. Protein sequences were analysed using different tools such as ExPASy ProtParam for different physicochemical properties, PONDR web server for disordered regions, and InterPro server and WebLogo for domains. Protein structures were generated using the AlphaFold database, and the quality of the modelled structure was checked through PROCHECK.

With the encroaching issue of water pollution, the use of involved chemicals to remove pollutants from water is not only a risk of chemical contamination, a potential hazard to the environment and human health but also requires significant investment in managing and improving the chemicals. Therefore, alginate as one of the nanomaterial-adorned polysaccharides-based entity that usually extract from brown algae has been used as novel and more efficient catalysts in the removal of a variety of aqueous pollutants from wastewater, including ionic metals and organic/inorganic pollutants by using the adsorption techniques. Adsorption is a technique used in water treatment where non-polar or particles less soluble in water are stuck to the surface of the adsorbent and therefore purifying it.

Synthetic elicitors are non-toxic chemicals and safe for the environment when applied to plants in a variety of ways. They have been shown to interact with defense mechanisms of plants and cause the production of a wide range of valuable secondary metabolites, both volatile and non-volatile. Plants primed with chemical elicitors are indirectly induced to increase their resistance to herbivore attacks in addition to imparting tolerance or resistance to nearby plants against biotic stresses.

In the face of declining crop yields, inefficient fertilizer usage, nutrient depletion, and limited water availability, the efficiency of conventional NPK fertilizers is a critical issue in India. The hypothesis of this study posits that nano-nitrogen could enhance growth and photosynthetic efficiency in crop plants compared to conventional fertilizers. For this, a randomized block design (RBD) field experiment was conducted with six treatments: no nitrogen (T1), 100% N through urea (T2), and varying levels of N replacement with nano-nitrogen (33%: T3; 50%: T4; 66%: T5; and 100%: T6).

This study reports novel three-step electrochemical fabrication of CoCrO/graphene-oxide nanocomposite on glassy carbon electrode including sequential synthesis of graphene-oxide using modified Hummer's method, CoCrO nanoparticles using sol-gel method and the cost-effective co-precipitation technique for nanocomposite formation. The resulting nanocomposite was subjected to comprehensive analytical and morphological analysis. X-ray diffractometry (XRD) confirms nanocomposite formation with reduced average crystallite size value of 26.
