Sequence-specificity of binding of ribonuclease binase to oligodeoxyribonucleotides immobilized in biochip gel pads was studied. Binding constants for the complexes between binase and selected oligonucleotides were measured. Oligodeoxyribonucleotides GAGAGAG and GAGAGAGAG were found to be high-specific in interaction with binase.

Investigations of cosmonauts' peripheral red blood prior to and on days 1, 7 and 14 post long-term MIR-19 and -20 missions dealt with the morphological composition of blood, indices of iron exchange, correlation of erythrocyte shapes, and the lipid and phospholipid profiles of the erythrocyte membrane. To this avail, methods of light electron microscopy, radioimmune analysis, and thin-layer microscopy were used. Among the unidirectional shifts in the crewmembers of these missions were changes in ion exchange indices and the lipid and phospholipid profiles of erythrocyte membrane which were indicative of increased microviscosity of the lipid layer.

The purpose of the present study was to perform comprehensive hematological investigations of females in a 120-day head-down (-5 degrees) bed rest and in the period of recovery. Morphometric, cytochemical parameters of erythrocytes and lymphocytes, erythropoietic activity and turnover of iron were analyzed in 8 female subjects assigned into two groups of 4. In group A, countermeasures were applied throughout the experiment; in group B, they were used only in the recovery period.

A digitonin-containing affinity sorbent was prepared using a hydrophilic polymer carrier. The correlation was found between the polymer structure and crosslink. King degree, on the one hand, and the sorbent capacity to bind cholesterol, protein and lipoproteins--on the other.
