Ex vivo Coronary Angiography: Safety of Iopromide in Cold Preservation of Pig Hearts.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of intracoronary iopromide (Ultravist®, Germany) administration on the recovery of cardiac pump function and cardiomyocytes metabolism during ex vivo cold preservation of pig hearts in the early posttransplant period.

Methods: Three-month-old mini pigs weighing 73 ± 2.8 kg were used as experimental models (n=12).

Evaluation of the Effect of Recombinant Human Angiogenin on the Functional Properties of EA.Hy926 Endothelial Cells and Human Skin Fibroblasts In Vitro.

We studied the effects of recombinant human angiogenin on in vitro proliferation, migration, apoptosis, and secretion of human skin fibroblasts (FB) and endothelial cells (EC; EA.Hy926). The most potent stimulation of migration and proliferation of EC and FB was observed at angiogenin concentration of 125 ng/ml in a serum-free medium.

A Novel Polymer Film to Develop Heart Valve Prostheses.

Polymer heart valves are a promising alternative to bioprostheses, the use of which is limited by the risks of calcific deterioration of devitalized preserved animal tissues. This is especially relevant in connection with the increasingly widespread use of transcatheter valves. Advances in modern organic chemistry provide a wide range of polymers that can replace biological material in the production of valve prostheses.

Reversed Corneal Fibroblasts Therapy Restores Transparency of Mouse Cornea after Injury.

Cell-based therapies using corneal stromal stem cells (CSSC), corneal keratocytes, or a combination of both suppress corneal scarring. The number of quiescent keratocytes in the cornea is small; it is difficult to expand them in vitro in quantities suitable for transplantation. This study examined the therapeutic effect of corneal fibroblasts reversed into keratocytes (rCF) in a mouse model of mechanical corneal injury.

Buccal Mesenchymal Stromal Cells as a Source of Osseointegration of Titanium Implants.

We studied the interaction of human buccal mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and osteoblasts differentiated from them with the surface of titanium samples. MSCs were isolated by enzymatic method from buccal fat pads. The obtained cell culture was presented by MSCs, which was confirmed by flow cytometry and differentiation into adipocytes and osteoblasts.
