Government and community strategies in Pernambuco, Brazil, to face COVID-19.

This case study analyzed arrangements and strategies of the network actors in the Special Indigenous Sanitary District (DSEI) Pernambuco's territory to guarantee the right to health of Indigenous populations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work was carried out through document analysis, workshops, and field research. The Contingency Plan for COVID-19 in Indigenous Peoples of DSEI Pernambuco included surveillance actions, laboratory and pharmaceutical assistance, communication, and management.

Health surveillance among indigenous populations in the context of COVID-19: a scoping review.

The study aimed to identify protection strategies used by Indigenous peoples during the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyzing 56 articles from 2020 to May 2021 across four areas -community organization, governance, communication, and territorial approaches - it found that structural vulnerabilities shaped their responses. The spread of the virus was influenced by environmental, social, and cultural factors.

Exploring the Variability in Phenolic Compounds and Antioxidant Capacity in Olive Oil By-Products: A Path to Sustainable Valorization.

The olive oil industry generates large volumes of by-products, creating notable environmental and economic concerns. Among these, olive cake (OC)-a primary by-product of olive oil extraction-stands out due to its high content of bioactive compounds and potential for value-added recycling. This study focused on characterizing six OC samples from the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro regions, collected at different processing times and mills.

Short- to medium-term follow-up of normoponderal children and adolescents with subclinical hypothyroidism: a retrospective study of the last 15 years.

Objectives: Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is defined by elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels (>5 mUI/L) and normal total and free thyroxine levels (fT4). There is ongoing debate over whether mild SCH should be treated. This study aims to assess the clinical course of normoponderal pediatric patients with SCH.

The interaction between muscle strength and endurance impacts athletic performance. Integrating both modalities into concurrent exercise (CE) is challenging due to the interference effect. This study explored the acute effects of resistance-only (R), endurance-only (E) and CE sessions on voluntary muscle strength, evoked neurophysiological parameters and contractile properties of the plantar flexors.
