Seroprevalence and incidence of human toxocarosis in Russia.

Overall incidence of toxocariasis in Russia is low and varies between 1.6 and 2.7 per 100,000, while in several hyper-endemic regions, such as Altay, Kurgan, Perm and Udmurtia, it reaches 43 per 100,000.

[Zinc metabolism in duodenal ulcer].

Zinc concentrations were measured in blood and gastroduodenal mucosa of patients with duodenal ulcer in remission and exacerbation. These were found reduced in plasma but elevated in gastroduodenal mucosa. Healing of the ulcer lesion was associated with positive shifts in zinc metabolism which recovered normal values in ulcer remission.
