The mechanism of the base-catalyzed thiol-epoxide stage of the thiol-ene/thiol-epoxide curing process was investigated using quantum chemical tools. This study searched for conventional tertiary amines with low to medium basicity as initiators to control reaction rates and tailor industrial applications. Challenges arise from the stronger basicity of initiators, leading to an uncontrollable and short curing application period.

A thorough clinical evaluation, including both physical examination and radiological imaging, is required to distinguish benign subcutaneous emphysema from necrotizing soft tissue infections. In this article, we report a 12-year-old female patient with benign subcutaneous emphysema of the upper extremity and highlight the importance of an accurate diagnosis to avoid unnecessary surgical intervention.

Investigation of Acanthamoeba-pathogenic bacteria interaction is important for the discovery of new antibacterial agents that can be used against pathogenic bacteria. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the antibacterial effect of cell-free supernatants obtained from Acanthamoeba against some pathogenic bacteria.

To determine Pb(II) ions, a polymeric fluorescence sensor membrane with excellent selectivity has been developed. It contains photoinitiators, functional monomers that can be cured under UV radiation, and cross-linking agents.

To form the photo crosslink via free-radical polymerization, a mixture of polyurethane acrylate (PUA), polyurethane methacrylate (PUMA), vinyl phosphonic acid (VPA), and bis[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] phosphate (BMEP) was exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation during the fabrication process. The unique crosslinked configuration of the membrane increased its stability and made it suitable for use with liquid electrolytes.
