Introduction: The occurrence of death from acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is often linked to right ventricular (RV) failure, arising from an imbalance between RV systolic function and heightened RV afterload. In our study, we posited that an echocardiographic ratio derived from this disparity [RV systolic function assessed by tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) divided by pulmonary arterial systolic pressure (PASP)] could offer superior predictive value for adverse outcomes compared to individual measurements of TAPSE and PASP alone.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis using data from a University Hospital Centre spanning from 2017 to 2023.
Biocontrol of phytopathogens involving the use of bioactive compounds produced by lactic acid bacteria (LAB), is a promising approach to manage many diseases in agriculture. In this study, a lactic acid bacterium designated YB1 was isolated from fermented olives and selected for its antagonistic activity against Verticillium dahliae (V. dahliae) and Agrobacterium tumefaciens (A.

The in vitro activities were tested by the direct confrontation and agar well diffusion methods, while the in vivo study was carried out in order to test the efficiency of DCS1 bacterial suspension in the control of Fusarium wilt in tomato plants. Identification of lipopeptides by mass spectrometry (LC/MSD-TOF) showed that lipopeptide isoforms produced during the first 24 h and 48 h of fermentation are identical, belonging to bacillomycin D and fengycins A and B homologues with a difference in the yield of production.

Our study aimed to assess the impact of the pandemic on the pathological stage of newly diagnosed patients with BC compared to pre-pandemic and to identify predictive factors of tumor advanced stage.
Methods: Pathological records of all consecutive newly operated BC patients between March 2020 and December 2021 were reviewed retrospectively.
