Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how adding a layer of universal adhesive affects the formation of gaps between tooth enamel/dentin and composite material, using advanced imaging techniques like SD-OCT and SEM.
  • It involved restoring cavities in premolars with different adhesives and application methods, measuring interfacial gaps at various stages post-restoration.
  • Results showed that the adhesive type, application mode, and number of adhesive layers significantly impacted gap formation, with specific findings indicating that double application of Scotchbond Universal resulted in more gaps compared to other methods.

Background: Fiberoptic tracheo-bronchoscopy is the most commonly used procedure for percutaneous dilational tracheotomy (PDT). However, PDT can be associated with major complications, including death. Furthermore it is unclear, whether the tracheal ring fractures may contribute to the development of tracheal stenosis after PDT nor whether tracheal ring fractures can be prevented by using a rigid endoscope for this procedure.

Sleep/activity patterns were continuously registered using microelectronic actometers on inhabitants of Tauwema (Papua New Guinea) who represent a traditionally living society. Results of analysis of parent-infant interactions of 4 families with infants of 1, 2, 5, and 11 months of age are presented. Results of power spectral analysis suggest that time patterns of mother-infant interactions are changing with the infants AE age.

An high-pressure liquid chromatographic method was used to measure allopurinol and oxipurinol in plasma and urine in 6 healthy volunteers after a single intravenous or oral dose of allopurinol. The influence of coadministered benzbromarone and hydrochlorothiazide on the pharmacokinetics of allopurinol and oxipurinol was also investigated. After intravenous injection of allopurinol 300 mg the plasma disappearance was biexponential, with a mean distribution half-life of 2.
