Data on dissolved phase water concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from 32 locations across the U.S. were compiled from reports, Web sites, and peer-reviewed papers, spanning 1979-2020, resulting in 5132 individual samples.

Design: A cross-sectional online survey.

Participants: A nationwide sample of 589 Australian residents, ≥18 years old with representative quotas for age and gender, recruited via an online panel provider.

Design of an exclusive obligate symbiosis for organism-based biological containment.

Biological containment is a critical safeguard for genetically engineered microbes prior to their environmental release to prevent proliferation in unintended regions. However, few biocontainment strategies can support the longer-term microbial survival that may be desired in a target environment without repeated human intervention. Here, we introduce the concept of an orthogonal obligate commensalism for the autonomous creation of environments that are permissive for survival of a biocontained microbe.

Risk of Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy in Patients With Cardiac Disease.

Background: Pregnant patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) face increased risk of preeclampsia and preterm delivery, yet data is limited data regarding degree of risk and impact of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) on gestational age at delivery.

Objectives: To examine HDP risk and impact on delivery timing in patients with CVD.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients >18 years old who delivered between 10/1/2015 and 12/31/2020 using the Premier Healthcare Database.
