2024 HRS perspective on advancing workflows for CIED remote monitoring.

Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) generate substantial data, often stored in image or PDF formats. Remote monitoring, now an integral component of patient care, places considerable administrative burdens on clinicians and staff, in large part due to the challenge of integrating these data seamlessly into electronic health records. Since 2006, the Heart Rhythm Society, in collaboration with the CIED industry, has led an initiative to establish a unified standard nomenclature.

Use of checklists improves the quality and safety of prehospital emergency care.

Objectives: High-level emergency medical care requires transfer of evidence-based knowledge into practice. Our study is the first to investigate the feasibility of checklists in improving prehospital emergency care.

Materials And Methods: Three checklists based on standard operating procedures were introduced: General principles of prehospital care, acute coronary syndrome and acute asthma/acutely exacerbated chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Combined endurance and muscle strength training in female and male patients with chronic heart failure.

Background: Exercise training has now become established practice in patients with chronic heart failure. Women are often under-represented in intervention studies compared to men. For this reason it was our aim to conduct a combined endurance and muscle strength training program to evaluate its effect on clinical performance data and health-related psychosocial factors in women and men.

Effect of an exercise training program on endothelial dysfunction in diabetic and non-diabetic patients with severe chronic heart failure.

Background: Endothelial dysfunction is found both in patients with chronic heart failure and in patients with insulin-treated type 2 diabetes mellitus. This endothelial dysfunction leads to a significant reduction in endothelium-derived vasodilation. Physical exercise can have a positive effect on endothelial dysfunction in patients with coronary artery disease, chronic heart failure and diabetes mellitus.
