[Rehabilitation and outcomes in acquired hemophilia A: a single-center clinical study].

The main goals of acquired hemophilia A (AHA) therapy are to arrest bleeding using bypass agents and eradicate FVIII inhibitors using immunosuppressive therapy (IST). We treated a total of 25 patients with AHA in the past 10 years at Gunma University Hospital. Fifteen patients (60%) underwent rehabilitation during hospitalization.

Analysis of the effect of permeant solutes on the hydraulic resistance of the plasma membrane in cells of Chara corallina.

In the cells of Chara corallina, permeant monohydric alcohols including methanol, ethanol and 1-propanol increased the hydraulic resistance of the membrane (Lp). We found that the relative value of the hydraulic resistance (Lp) was linearly dependent on the concentration (C) of the alcohol. The relationship is expressed in the equation: Lp = ρC + 1, where ρ is the hydraulic resistance modifier coefficient of the membrane.

Impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on the number of colorectal cancer surgeries performed: analysis of a nationwide inpatient database in Japan.

Purpose: This study examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the number of colorectal cancer surgeries performed in Japan.

Methods: We selected patients who underwent colorectal cancer surgeries between January, 2017 and December, 2020 from the Diagnosis Procedure Combination database. The COVID-19 pandemic was divided into three waves.

An Initial Assessment of the Correlation Between Virtual Reality and Paper and Pencil Line Bisection Test Results.

Objective: To make an initial assessment of the correlation between immersive virtual reality-based (ILBT) line bisection testing and paper-and-pencil-based line bisection (PLBT) testing in healthy subjects.

Two Cases of Intractable Radiation-Induced Hemorrhagic Cystitis Treated with Transcatheter Embolization.

Radiation-induced hemorrhagic cystitis is a late complication of radiotherapy, and in rare cases, refractory. Refractory bleeding may not be resolved by transurethral electrocoagulation (TUEC) or hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy and requires transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) or urinary diversion. Here, we report two cases of radiation-induced hemorrhagic cystitis successfully treated with TAE.
