The Assessment of Post-Earthquake Quality of Life of Earthquake Survivors.

Objectives: This study aims to assess the quality of life (QoL) of earthquake survivors who experienced 2 major earthquakes in Türkiye on February 6, 2023, with different measurement tools.

Methods: The study was conducted in 2 centers with a total of 467 participants. For QoL measurement, face-to-face Euroqol EQ-5D-5L, Euroqol Visual Analog Scale (EQ-VAS), and Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) measurement tools were used.

[Multicentric Screening of Local Antibiotic Resistance in Uncomplicated Urinary System Infections: 1850 Patients from 37 Centers].

This study was aimed to identify the most frequently observed pathogens in uncomplicated urinary tract infections from outpatient urinary isolates obtained across seven different geographical regions in Türkiye and to determine whether the antibiotic resistance rates of these pathogens differ significantly between these regions. The study included patients aged 18 to 65 years who were diagnosed with uncomplicated urinary tract infections and had positive urine cultures from March 2021 to August 2022, across 37 different centers in Türkiye. The participating centers were selected based on their use of the disk diffusion method, in line with the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) guidelines, to ensure standardization of urine culture data.

Does malignancy heighten the risk of rejection in kidney transplant recipients?

Background: Malignancies are the third leading cause of death among kidney transplant recipients. These patients face increased mortality and challenges such as allograft loss and rejection, which may arise from surgical complications, changes in immunosuppressive therapy or the use of chemotherapeutics. This study aims to examine the risk of allograft rejection and loss in kidney transplant recipients diagnosed with malignancies.

Effects of Nutritional Protocol Changes on Hemodialysis Adequacy and Patient Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

BACKGROUND During the COVID-19 pandemic, strict feeding restrictions were implemented in many dialysis centers to minimize transmission between patients. This study aims to evaluate the effects of these feeding restrictions on dry weight, intradialytic hypotension (IDH), and dialysis adequacy in hemodialysis patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS In this retrospective single-center study involving 76 hemodialysis patients, data from 2 consecutive 6-month periods were analyzed: the first before the COVID-19 pandemic when intradialytic nutrition was supported, and the second during the pandemic when intradialytic nutrition was restricted.

Profiling of five urinary exosomal miRNAs for the differential diagnosis of patients with diabetic kidney disease and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the diagnostic utility of microRNAs (miRNAs) for distinguishing between urine samples from patients with Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD) and those with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS).

Methods: In this multicentric, cross-sectional investigation, we enrolled patients diagnosed with DKD, individuals with primary biopsy-proven FSGS, and healthy controls. The top 5 miRNAs (hsa-mir-21, hsa-mir-30a, hsa-mir-193a, hsa-mir-196a, hsa-mir-200a) were selected to quantify miRNAs in urine samples.
