Biomedical Image Denoising Based on Hybrid Optimization Algorithm and Sequential Filters.

Background: Nowadays, image de-noising plays a very important role in medical analysis applications and pre-processing step. Many filters were designed for image processing, assuming a specific noise distribution, so the images which are acquired by different medical imaging modalities must be out of the noise.

Estrogen Receptor Expression in Glial Tumors of Iranian Patients: A Single Center Experience.

Background & Objective: Gliomas are the most common type of primary intracranial tumors in adults. The expression of estrogen receptors varies in different grades of glial tumors, and some studies have suggested that this expression might have a prognostic value. It seems that estrogen receptor expression negatively correlates with the histological grade of gliomas.

Findings of DTI-p maps in comparison with T/T-FLAIR to assess postoperative hyper-signal abnormal regions in patients with glioblastoma.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) isotropic map (p-map) with current radiographically (T/T-FLAIR) methods based on abnormal hyper-signal size and location of glioblastoma tumor using a semi-automatic approach.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-five patients with biopsy-proved diagnosis of glioblastoma participated in this study. T, T-FLAIR images and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) were acquired 1 week before radiotherapy.
