Neoadjuvant Therapy (NT) has become the gold standard for treating locally advanced Breast Cancer (BC). The assessment of pathological response (pR) post-NT plays a crucial role in predicting long-term survival, with Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) currently recognised as the preferred imaging modality for its evaluation. Traditional imaging techniques, such as Digital Mammography (DM) and Ultrasonography (US), encounter difficulties in post-NT assessments due to breast density, lesion changes, fibrosis, and molecular patterns.

Background: to compare different anesthesia protocols during High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for saphenous trunk (GSV/SSV) and/or varicosities incompetence treatment.

Material And Methods: patients with GSV/SSV incompetence with varicose veins underwent HIFU under different anesthesia protocols. The primary endpoint was the pain score during HIFU using a 10-point scale.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study assesses how well MRI can diagnose breast implant ruptures and the effect of radiologist experience on accuracy.
  • - It involved 118 patients who had implant surgeries, finding that expert radiologists detected ruptures with much greater accuracy compared to less experienced ones.
  • - The results highlight the need for specialized training in radiology to enhance diagnostic precision, prompting a recommendation for updated radiological guidelines.

In the medical field, ultrasound is commonly used for diagnostic imaging due to its ability to provide real-time images. However, High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is also used for other clinical purposes, such as thermal tissue ablation. In the case of varicose veins, the potential role and benefits of HIFU have been known for a long time despite in-vivo results have mostly been preliminary and experimental, particularly regarding its effect on venous wall.
