Cardiovascular function and autonomic regulation in urethane-anesthetized and conscious mice.

Urethane is widely used for its ability to induce prolonged anesthesia. Variability in previously reported cardiovascular parameters in murine models makes it challenging to definitively evaluate the cardiovascular effects of urethane anesthesia. We aimed to address these challenges, thereby advancing our understanding of urethane's effects on cardiovascular function in mice.

Sex differences in cardiovascular disease and dysregulation in Down syndrome.

This meta-analysis, which consisted of a scoping review and retrospective medical record review, is focused on potential sex differences in cardiovascular diseases in patients with Down syndrome. We limited our review to peer-reviewed, primary articles in the English language, in the PubMed and Web of Science databases from 1965 to 2021. Guidelines for scoping reviews were followed throughout the process.

Exploring Views and Professional Learning Needs of Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-Tiered (Ci3T) Leadership Teams Related to Universal Behavior Screening Implementation.

Research conducted to date has highlighted barriers to initial adoption of universal behavior screening in schools. However, little is known regarding the experiences of those implementing these procedures and there have been no studies conducted examining the experiences of educators in different stages of implementing various tiered systems of supports. Universal screening is foundational to a successful Comprehensive, Integrated Three-Tiered (Ci3T) model of prevention-an integrated tiered system addressing academics, behavior, and social and emotional well-being.

A review of socioeconomic factors associated with acute myocardial infarction-related mortality and hospital readmissions.

Background: Risk-adjustment models are widely used methodological approaches within the healthcare industry to measure hospital performance and quality of care. However, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) do not fully adjust for socioeconomic status (SES) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) models. A review and evidence synthesis was conducted to identify associations of SES factors with hospital readmission and mortality in AMI patients.
