Reduction of Parkinson's-related dysphonia by thyroplasty.

Parkinson's-related dysphonia has a negative impact on the quality of speech by increasing the effects of the associated dysarthria. When this dysphonia is related to vocal fold adduction defect, constituting a real glottic insufficiency, vocal fold medialization can be proposed after failure of intensive voice and speech therapy. Acoustic and aerodynamic voice and speech analysis techniques, perceptual evaluation and estimation of vocal handicap, associated with fiberoptic laryngoscopy were performed to determine the indication for vocal fold medialization in these patients with glottic insufficiency.

Circulating Fatty Acid Synthase in pregnant women: Relationship to blood pressure, maternal metabolism and newborn parameters.

The enzyme FASN (fatty acid synthase) is potentially related with hypertension and metabolic dysfunction. FASN is highly expressed in the human placenta. We aimed to investigate the relationship circulating FASN has with blood pressure, maternal metabolism and newborn parameters in healthy pregnant women.

[Pristinamycin/Vitamin k antagonists drug interaction: a French pharmacovigilance database study].

Objective: To analyse pristinamycin/vitamin K antagonists (VKA) drug interaction by using data recorded in the French pharmacovigilance database (FPVB).

Methods: All cases with an increase effect of a VKA and an association with pristinamycin recorded in the FPVB between 1985 and 2013 were included. Data concerning patients, VKA treatments and side effects were recorded for a descriptive analysis.

The PREGVAXGRIP study: a cohort study to assess foetal and neonatal consequences of in utero exposure to vaccination against A(H1N1)v2009 influenza.

Background: In October 2009, in the context of an A(H1N1)v2009 influenza pandemic, a vaccination campaign was launched in France, in which one of the priority groups was pregnant women, on account of the high risk of developing complications following infection by this virus.

Objective: The aim of this multicentric, prospective, observational study was to assess safety and pregnancy outcomes in a cohort of pregnant women when receiving the A(H1N1)v2009 influenza pandemic vaccine.

Methods: This was a prospective study that followed up pregnant women recruited mainly in vaccination centres and maternity departments.
