Harmful algae blooms have increased in frequency and geographic range in recent decades, and they produce toxins strains such as saxitoxins (STXs). they block voltage-gated sodium channels and can lead to several poisonings and the death of organisms that pose a significant risk to public and environmental health. The study of STXs toxicity has been carried out but little is known about the response of antioxidant enzymes activities to STXs in mice.

Herein we describe the proof of concept of MBA121, a compound designed as a tacrine-ferulic acid hybrid, and its potential use in the therapy of AD. MBA121 shows good -amyloid (A) anti-aggregation properties, selective inhibition of human butyrylcholinesterase, good neuroprotection against toxic insults, such as A, A, and HO, and promising ADMET properties that support translational developments.

Stress has been classified as the health epidemic of the 21st century with an increasingly active research interest within the fields of psychology, neuroscience, medicine, and more recently affective computing. At present, stress is identified through cortisol levels in saliva but there is no unanimously accepted standard for continuous stress evaluation. With recent development in wearable sensors, many scientists are interested in stress identification through physiological signals such as the Heart rate variability (HRV).
