Purpose: We report a case of a submacular surgery complicated by a choroidal neovascular membrane at the retinotomy site.
Method: The patient underwent submacular surgery for the removal of an idiopathic choroidal neovascular membrane.
Result: Three weeks after surgery, the patient developed a choroidal neovascular membrane at the retinotomy site.
Purpose: We studied a single, large family with autosomal dominant cone degeneration in order to map the disease-causing gene.
Methods: Seventy-three individuals in this family were examined, and 34 were found to be affected. Blood samples from 34 affected and unaffected family members were obtained for DNA analysis and linkage mapping.
The clinical, neuroradiological, and surgical management of three cases of intradural disc herniations--one each in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions--are presented. Intradural disc herniations comprise only 0.27% of all herniated discs.
