Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an age-dependent neurodegenerative disease. Beta-amyloid (Aβ)-induced neurotoxicity has a pivotal role in AD pathogenesis; therefore, the modulation of Aβ toxicity is the promising therapeutic approach to control the disease progression. Medicinal plants because of their multiple active ingredients are effective in complex diseases, such as AD.

Article Synopsis
  • The development of a laser cladding repair strategy, utilizing the new 415SS martensitic stainless-steel alloy, is essential for enhancing heavy-haul railway networks due to its compatibility with premium hypereutectoid rails.
  • Non-destructive neutron diffraction techniques were applied to assess the residual stress within various layers of the cladded material, revealing significant internal stress distributions across different heat treatments and grinding operations.
  • The research indicates that the optimal combination of 540 °C tempering and minimal surface removal results in beneficial compressive stress in the cladding while minimizing tensile stresses in the heat-affected zone, highlighting the alloy's advantageous properties compared to existing standards.

The developing brain is susceptible to the neurotoxic effects of lead. Exposure to lead has main effects on the cholinergic system and causes reduction of cholinergic neuron function during brain development. Disruption of the cholinergic system by chemicals, which play important roles during brain development, causes of neurodevelopmental toxicity.

Acetamiprid (ACE) is one of the widely used neonicotinoid insecticides. In mammals, in spite of the low-affinity nAChRs, neurotoxic effects following the Acetamiprid exposure have recently been reported, which suggests some concerns regarding the impacts on the nervous system of mammals. This study aims to investigate the effect of Acetamiprid on spatial memory and possible vulnerability of hippocampal glutamatergic system following the Acetamiprid exposure.
