Bispecific antibody targeting of lipid nanoparticles.

Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) are the most clinically advanced non-viral gene delivery system. While progress has been made for enhancing delivery, cell specific targeting remains a challenge. Targeting moieties such as antibodies can be chemically-conjugated to LNPs however, this approach is complex and has challenges for scaling up.

Beyond symptom reduction: Veterans' goals for posttraumatic stress disorder treatment.

Despite a varied selection of available trauma-focused evidence-based psychotherapies (TF-EBPs) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), few veterans receive a full course of an evidence-based treatment. A better understanding of and alignment with veterans' PTSD treatment goals could be one way to improve treatment engagement and adherence, consistent with veteran-oriented care within the U.S.

Infectious keratitis in Western New York: a 10-year review of patient demographics, clinical management, and treatment failure.

Background: Infectious keratitis (IK) is a blinding disease and an important cause of ocular morbidity. Understanding regional trends in IK are important to understand the epidemiology and clinical outcomes of this disease.

Methods: In this 10-year retrospective review, patient characteristics including sociodemographic factors, medical history, and ocular history were collected as well as the clinical course and outcomes.

Effects of choline alfoscerate on cognitive function and quality of life in type 2 diabetes: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.

Aims: This study evaluated the effects of choline alfoscerate on cognitive function and quality of life in T2DM patients with mild cognitive decrements.

Materials And Methods: In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, we recruited 36 individuals with T2DM and mild cognitive impairment which was assessed by the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score of 25-28, and randomly assigned them to receive either 1200 mg/day of choline alfoscerate or a placebo. Four additional questionnaires-the 36-Item Short Form Survey, the modified Informant Questionnaire on Cognitive Decline in the Elderly, the Korean version of Activities of Daily Living, and the Patient Health Questionnaire-were investigated at 6 and 12 months and analysed via mixed-effects models for repeated measures.

Robotic-Assisted Microsurgery in Gender-Affirming Phalloplasty.

Genital gender-affirming masculinization surgeries require handling of small vessels and nerves handling in deep planes. Since the introduction of the Symani Surgical System for robotic-assisted microsurgery in clinical practice, its value in handling small and deep vessels via additional distal motion axes, motion scaling, and tremor elimination has been demonstrated. We combined the Symani with the robotic exoscope RoboticScope to achieve maximum flexibility and ergonomics for the microsurgeon.
