Introduction: The primary aim of this study was to evaluate how the Game Ready© cryotherapy system impacts postoperative analgesia following lumbar fusion. The secondary aim was to study the effect of cryotherapy on blood loss, transfusion rate and recovery after surgery.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective study of 60 patients divided into two consecutive sets.
Objectives: Although healthcare workers (HCWs) have been particularly affected by SARS-CoV-2, detailed data remain scarce. In this study, we investigated infection rates, clinical characteristics, occupational exposure and household transmission among all symptomatic HCWs screened by SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR between 17 March (French lockdown) and 20 April.
Methods: SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR was proposed to symptomatic (new cough or dyspnoea) HCWs at Creteil Hospital in one of the Parisian suburbs most severely affected by COVID-19.

Introduction: Intrathecal morphine (ITM) is a well-known and extensively used method for analgesia in various surgical fields; however, its relevance in spine surgery is debated given the conflicting results in the literature. The aim of this study was to investigate the opioid-sparing effect of ITM after lumbar fusion.
Methods: This retrospective study involves two consecutive series of patients undergoing posterior lumbar fusion.

Background: In plastic surgery, guidelines about antibiotic prophylaxis are inaccurate and incomplete, due to result the absence of high-level studies on this subject. The main aim is to establish national common recommendations for plastic surgery antibiotic prophylaxis.
Materials And Methods: A working group will discuss and validate a multi-center analysis of practices in three University Hospital Centers compared to an interdisciplinary analysis of recommendations to the French Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and scientific literature.
In order to clarify the role of the high-pathogenicity island (HPI) in the experimental virulence of Escherichia coli, we constructed different deletion mutants of the entire HPI and of three individual genes (irp2, fyuA and ybtA), encoding for three main functions within the HPI. Those mutants were constructed for three phylogroup B2 strains (536-STc127, CFT073-STc73, and NU14-STc95), representative of the main B2 subgroups causing extra-intestinal infections. Transcriptional profiles obtained for the selected HPI genes irp2, fyuA and ybtA revealed similar patterns for all strains, both under selective iron-deplete conditions and in intracellular bacterial communities in vitro, with a high expression of irp2.
