Antimicrobial Activity of ZnS and ZnO-TOP Nanoparticles Againts Pathogenic Bacteria.

This study aims to synthesize ZnS nanoparticles (NPs) and investigate their biocidal effects, along with those of ZnO-Trioctylphosphine (ZnO-TOP) NPs, on various pathogenic microbes. The NPs were synthesized via the polyol method using the forced hydrolysis of zinc acetate. They were characterized by XRD and TEM.

Information needs of women with BRCA mutations regarding cancer risk management and decision-making.

Purpose: Providing women who have tested positive for a pathogenic variant in BRCA1 or BRCA 2 relevant information can help them to make informed decisions about managing their cancer risk. However, there is a lack of targeted informational support for BRCA positive women specific to the Irish context. The objective of this study is to identify the information needs of women diagnosed with a pathogenic variant in BRCA1 or BRCA 2 regarding cancer risk management and decision-making.

Preferences and end of life care for residents of aged care facilities: a mixed methods study.

Background: Residential aged care facilities is one of the most common places to deliver of end of life care. A lack of evidence regarding preferred place for end of life care for residents of aged care facilities impacts on delivery of care and prevents assessment of quality of care. This paper reports the preferences, current status of end of life care and enablers and barriers of care being delivered in line with the wishes of residents of participating aged care facilities.

Song for Blood Donor's Recruitment and Promotion during COVID-19 Pandemic.

Songs are commonly used in educational public health programmes to facilitate the understanding of health messages. During the COVID-19 pandemic, national blood banks witnessed a pronounced reduction in blood donors. Thus, we created a song with the title 'Keep the World Beating' to raise awareness of the need for blood and to promote blood donation.
