Survival Trends in Pediatric Differentiated Thyroid Cancer: A Middle Eastern Perspective.

Pediatric Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (pedDTC) is a rare pediatric malignancy with an increasing incidence over time. To date, there is a paucity of literature specifically addressing pedDTC within the context of Middle Eastern ethnicity. This retrospective study aimed to assess the risk-stratifying factors for overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) in pediatric DTC patients from Iraq and Jordan.

Thyroid Carcinoma Arising From Struma Ovarii at Adolescence: A Challenging Case With Favorable Outcome.

Malignant struma ovarii (MSO) is a rare and aggressive ovarian tumor that mostly affects adults but can occur in adolescents. Prompt recognition, accurate diagnosis, and multidisciplinary management are essential for favorable outcomes. Herein, we report the youngest case of an 11-year-old girl with a large MSO.

Evaluation of interleukins 37 and 38 and vitamin D status in the serum of women with Graves' disease.

Background: Graves' disease (GD) is an autoimmune thyroid disorder and recent studies have proposed a role for interleukin (IL)-37, IL-38, and vitamin D (VitD) in the pathophysiology of disease. Therefore, this study investigated the expression of IL-37, IL-38, and VitD in the serum of GD patients and correlations of their levels with some demographic and clinical characteristics.

Methods: Serum IL-37, IL-38, and VitD levels were evaluated in 90 women with GD and 93 control women using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits.

Subacute thyroiditis is a type of thyroid disease that occurs after a viral infection. This is usually a temporary condition associated with neck pain and may be accompanied by sore throat and flu-like symptoms. We present a case of post COVID-19 subacute thyroiditis and review its presentation and outcome.
