Objectives: This study aimed to explore the association between high-risk fertility behaviors and neonatal mortality in Ethiopia.
Study Design: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted using data from the 2019 Ethiopian Mini-Demographic and Health Survey.
Methods: Mixed-effects logit regression models were fitted to 5527 children nested within 305 clusters.
Background: Maternal mortality remains unacceptably high in Ethiopia, although most of its causes are preventable. One way of tackling this problem is by establishing a maternal waiting home (MWH) close to a health facility. Although the benefits of an MWH have been well-documented, the determinants of its use have not been well-studied.

Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) is a clinically used technique for fracture healing that delivers mechanical impulses to the damaged bone tissue in a non-invasive and non-ionizing manner. The mechanism of action of LIPUS is still controversially discussed in the scientific community.

Objectives: Household air pollution from the use of biomass fuels has been associated with low birth weight in many developing countries. This study aimed to investigate the effect of indoor air pollution from biomass fuels and kitchen location on maternal reports of child size at birth in Ethiopia.
Study Design: A cross-sectional study design based on the secondary data analysis was used.
Bacteria from the genus Providencia are ubiquitous Gram-negative opportunistic pathogens, causing "travelers' diarrhea", urinary tract, and other nosocomial infections in humans. Some Providencia strains have also been isolated as natural pathogens of Drosophila melanogaster. Despite clinical relevance and extensive use in Drosophila immunity research, little is known about Providencia virulence mechanisms and the corresponding insect host defenses.
