Introduction: The significance of this review lies in addressing the limitations of passive locomotion in capsule endoscopes, hindering their widespread use in medical applications. The research focuses on evaluating existing miniature in vivo remote-controlled capsule endoscopes, examining their locomotion designs, and working theories to pave the way for overcoming challenges and enhancing their applicability in diagnostic and treatment settings.

Areas Covered: This paper explores control methods and dynamic system modeling in the context of self-propelled remote-controlled capsule endoscopes with a two-mass arrangement.

Rotary-wing aerial vehicles offer manoeuvrability and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) advantages over fixed-wing systems. Rotary-wing systems do however have comparatively higher energy demands and consequently shorter flight times and therefore a greater energy dependence over their fixed-wing counterparts. Advances in photovoltaic technologies have resulted in significant increases in the specific power (power-to-weight-ratio) of solar cells enabling the design of solar-powered rotary-wing aircraft, and now micro-sized variants.

For many socio-economic and demographic issues, majority of the Egyptian population live near the Nile River for thousands of years. Shortage of freshwater resources at remote and rural areas is limiting population settlement and development. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative solutions including saline water desalination processes to assist obtaining fresh water for domestic and industrial purposes in these remote areas.

This study presents the development of a grey-box modelling approach and fuzzy logic control for real time trajectory control of an experimental four degree-of-freedom Leader-Follower Robot (LFR) manipulator system using a hybrid optimisation algorithm, known as Grey Wolf Optimiser (GWO) - Whale Optimisation Algorithm (WOA). The approach has advantages in achieving an accurate model of the LFR manipulator system, and together with a better trajectory tracking performance. In the first instance, the white box model is formed by modelling the dynamics of the follower manipulator using the Euler-Lagrange formulation.

Background: We investigated the incidence of thyroid gland invasion in patients with advanced laryngeal carcinoma who were treated with total laryngectomy, also the impact of different preoperative and intraoperative predictors on thyroid gland invasion. Moreover, the impact of thyroid gland preservation on the locoregional tumor control and the recurrence rates after surgery were investigated.

Materials And Methods: This study was conducted over 5 years on 100 patients with advanced laryngeal carcinoma who underwent total laryngectomy.
